Hunter Western Pleasure Having Fun

Welcome to the Metropolitan Horsemen's Association Web site. MHA members work to promote equestrian sports, uniting horse people across all disciplines to develop good horsemanship. We work to maintain Sequoia Arena and to preserve equestrian facilities and trail access in the East Bay Area.

The Metropolitan Horsemen's Association speaks for the equestrian community in public meetings. We interact with other groups and agencies to promote the equestrian presence in the East Bay.

Monthly meetings are on the first Thursday of the month at 7:00 p.m. at the MHA Clubhouse, located at 10060 Skyline Boulevard, Oakland, CA 94602. Phone: (510) 531-5449; Fax: (510) 530-4584; email: info@mhaoakland.org.

MHA offers competitors a friendly and encouraging environment with horse shows that are structured to help green to advanced horses and riders have a successful show experience. Set in Joaquin Miller Park in the beautiful Oakland Hills, Sequoia Arena has great footing, friendly and helpful MHA volunteers, and plentiful shade during the summer heat.

Now is the time to join MHA or renew your membership for 2014. Your membership entitles you to a members-only discount on your entry fees at MHA shows. You can download a printable membership form here.

Great news! The announcer's stand at Sequoia arena, which was damaged when a tree fell on it during a storm in 2012, has now been completely renovated and is ready for our 2014 show season. This project was initiated and managed by Peter and Judi Bank, with the help of a small army of volunteers. See more photos on the Arena Fund page.
