Grass Valley 50 Year Anniversary of the Grass Valley Trail

MHA has been around for a long time!  We were established in 1938 and have lots of cool pictures that we would love to share with you.  Check back  regularly, and you can learn about the equestrian history of the East Bay.

Did you know...

Prior to 1962 there was a great riding program, stables, covered arena, cross country course and more at Mills college.  Cornelia Cress was the instructor.  She was also one of the founding members of the MHA.  The Equestrian Center was destroyed to put in Highway 580 which was built in the early 1960's

This is the 50 year anniversary of the Grass Valley Trail.  Here is a picture of the dedication day.  Over 200 horsemen are following Ji Johnstone, and Bev Kecy out of the new trail on to the grounds.

Wow!  That is some crazy riding for a  5 year old!
